A trip to the ferry turns into an eye roll

Today was a trip to the cafe in montebello.

Unfortunately you need to take a ferry to get there and that can go be a pleasant experience or not. Just missing the ferry is always annoying but just missing the ferry with someone idling is even worse.

This older man left his vehicle idling despite the ferry not even being at the other side yet. He then proceeded to get out of his vehicle to hang out outside and take pictures. He even went for a walk while leaving his door open and engine running (bonkers). I had enough and confronted him, asked him why he would leave it running when he’s not even in the vehicle or driving. He said it was parked, I said exactly, time to turn it off. He told me he did not care and that we had lots of air. I told him we didn’t and that it was toxic. He said the environmental stuff is garbage anyway. I told him this is about local air and toxic exhaust. Go in your garage and turn on your vehicle, it will kill you. He said I travel to Chicago every week for business on an airplane. I said you are traveling, right now you’re not going anywhere. He asked me why I wasn’t on a bike and I told him because it’s a long distance… all of this so he can pollute our air unnecessarily while simultaneously wasting gas and money. If a person isn’t in the vehicle or driving, time to turn it off. There was no Pros to his side of the argument, just a lack of thinking or caring. I doubt his lungs or his lady’s enjoy exhaust. No chance his grandkids are cool with his example today.
