Daylight Time gone again

Get your Sh*t together Quebec

Ontario passed legislation in 2020 to get rid of Standard Time and stay with daylight Time permanently. Unfortunately that legislation was based on Quebec and New York getting it done.

New York has an excuse, they need to wait in order for Congress to pass legislation allowing them to do it. They could pass it in advance just to be ready but I will excuse them for not having confidence in the feds getting it done even factoring in a unanimous Senate vote.

Quebec on the other hand has no excuses and has had plenty of time. Maybe they have been too busy discriminating against non Francophones and passing terrible unCanadian laws that they couldn’t even dedicate a couple hours to something as important as sunlight at the end of the day during winter. Why care about making winter (depressing time of year for a lot of people) better when you can focus on stopping a doctor from speaking to their patient in the language of their choice… Priorities.

They’ve had three years to join Ontario but done nothing on the matter other than provide lip service that they’re interested. They talk about it not being a priority but it is for a lot of people. Certainly a higher priority than a lot of the laws that they have taken the time to pass.

Even when the US Congress and New York eventually gets their act together, Ontario will still have to wait for Quebec.

Why is it so important to stick with daylight Time instead of Standard Time? Because the vast majority of Canadians can take advantage of an extra hour before sunset where as only the early morning crew enjoys the earlier sunrise. Think about it.
